Mimi Johnson

Executive Director

Mimi's passion for caring for survivors of human trafficking led to the development of SAGE. She has been working in mental health for over 7 years and has a Masters degree in Counseling. Mimi has experience providing counseling to survivors of trauma in both residential and community-based programs. She also spent 3 years leading a women’s ministry with her church. Mimi guides the development of SAGE programs, combining her therapeutic and leadership experience to provide the best possible experience for participants. She loves hiking with her husband and 4 kids, drawing, and eating delicious food.

JoAnne Wallo

Program Manager

JoAnne provides management and program development for our employment and mentorship programs at SAGE. She has a unique ability to connect with all different types of people and an empathetic approach to guiding each individual on their journey. JoAnne holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology. She has experience providing direct care to survivors in a residential program and has also served in leadership positions with women, youth, and children at her church. JoAnne has 4 kids, and 2 doodle dogs named Juneau and Ruby. She loves to read, ride rollercoasters, and play board games.

Kim Flandro

Product Development and Sales Manager

Kim is responsible for overseeing our handmade product line and for building relationships with partnering businesses. She works with SAGE participants to develop the products that we sell. Kim brings a big heart, creativity, and amazing networking skills to our work with survivors. She has experience working as a house coach at a residential program for human trafficking survivors and has 17 years of experience working with the young women in her faith organization. She has 4 boys and 2 pitt mix rescue dogs (Koa and Luna), she loves nature and chocolate, and she enjoys seeing people progress and change.

Maria Serino

Career Development Program Manager

Maria works with participants at SAGE to define and follow through on their career goals. She is passionate about anti-trafficking efforts and has experience working with survivors both in the US and overseas. In 2018 and 2019 Maria served as an outreach worker for Shear Love International in Pattaya, Thailand. As an outreach worker she went into the city’s many bars and brothels, to build a relational bridge with the workers; and offer them another option. When she returned to the US, she worked at VAST (Valley Against Sex Trafficking) from 2019 to 2023. Maria enjoys cooking, traveling, being a part of community theater, and spending time with family.

Doug Johnson

Operations and Entrepreneurship

Doug keeps operations running smoothly at our workshop and develops relationships with partnering businesses for our employment program. He has seen the impact of meaningful employment in a trauma aware environment on employees and family members and is passionate about sharing that gift with survivors of sexual trauma. As a full time mechanical engineer, and also as an entrepreneur, Doug enjoys building things and getting new projects off the ground. Doug loves spending time with his wife and 4 kids, learning, being creative, and being around interesting people.

Jessica Baxley

Case Manager

Jessica is a compassionate and dedicated Case Manager with over 16 years of Case management experience with various populations including women, children and the elderly. Jessica has a Bachelors Degree in Child and Family Studies and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Jessica is passionate about helping others. At SAGE, Jessica assists others towards reaching social, emotional and personal development through the Case Management program. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and taking walks.
